Horatio
Horatio is the closest friend of Hamlet; they met at the University of Wittenberg.
Horatio is the character that confirms for Hamlet that a sighting of a ghost that looked like Hamlet's father was sighted. Hamlet believed what Horatio had said and decided to see this ghost for himself. Hamlet is shown to trust Horatio as it is shown that Hamlet asks Horatio to help him watch Claudius as the play was going on. Moreover, Hamlet shares his plans with Horatio because there is trust between the two characters. |
At the end of Act 5, Hamlet entrusts Horatio with the task of explaining in court why there were so many dead bodies, and to also tell the tale of Hamlet to Fortinbras.
